Karl Friðleifur Gunnarsson
Karl Friðleifur Gunnarsson is an Icelandic right-back who plays for Víkingur Reykjavík. Born on 6 July 2001, he developed in the youth system of Breiðablik Kópavogur and began appearing in the club’s senior matchday squads in 2018. Gunnarsson joined Víkingur in February 2022, marking a move from academy prospect to established senior defender. At Víkingur, he has featured in Iceland’s Besta deild karla and gained experience in UEFA Champions League and Conference League qualifying. Primarily deployed on the right side of defence, Karl Gunnarsson can also operate as a wing-back or right midfielder.
