Júlio Rodrigues Romão

Júlio Romão is a Brazilian defensive midfielder born on 29 March 1998. He developed in Brazil with Duque de Caxias, Boavista-RJ and Goiás before progressing through Athletico Paranaense’s under-17, under-19 and under-23 sides in 2017 and 2018. After spells with Ponte Preta and Santa Cruz, Romão moved to Portugal and joined Santa Clara in August 2020. He made his professional debut on 25 September 2020 in Santa Clara’s 1–0 Primeira Liga victory over Braga. In July 2022, he moved to Qarabag, where he featured as a holding midfielder during the club’s 2022–23 and 2023–24 Premyer Liqa title-winning seasons and its Azerbaijan Cup triumph. Romão is currently listed with Akhmat, continuing a career that has taken him from Brazilian development football into European competition.
