Julen Agirrezabala Astúlez

Julen Agirrezabala is a Spanish goalkeeper born in San Sebastián on 26 December 2000. A left-footed player standing 1.87 metres, he developed through Athletic Club’s Lezama academy after joining in 2018. He made his reserve-team debut in November 2020 and saved a penalty before progressing towards the senior squad. At Athletic, Agirrezabala initially operated behind Unai Simón and became the club’s preferred goalkeeper in domestic cup matches. In the 2023–24 Copa del Rey, he played every minute, kept four clean sheets and saved Manu Morlanes’ penalty in the final shootout against Mallorca as Athletic lifted the trophy. His game combines left-footed distribution with proactive positioning and sweeper-keeper actions. Agirrezabala moved to Valencia on loan for the 2025–26 season, seeking regular first-team football.
