Ricardo Jorge Silva Araujo

Jorginho, whose full name is Ricardo Jorge Silva Araujo, is a Portuguese defender born in Vila Nova de Famalicão on 27 June 1998. He began at FC Famalicão before spending time with CB Póvoa de Lanhoso and joining Benfica’s academy in 2010. Developed at Seixal, he progressed to Benfica B and made one senior appearance between 2017 and 2020, while representing Portugal from under-15 to under-19 level. Jorginho returned to Famalicão in 2020, then moved to Sporting da Covilhã in 2022, where he recorded 23 appearances in the Portuguese second tier. In 2023, he continued his career with Ilves in Finland. During the 2024 season, the defender scored once and supplied four assists in 20 matches. Jorginho is also associated with KuPS, continuing a career shaped by academy development, senior opportunity and movement across European football.
