Jonathan Castro Otto

Jonny, whose full name is Jonathan Castro Otto, is a Spanish left-back born in Vigo on 3 March 1994. He developed in Celta Vigo’s academy and made his senior La Liga debut in September 2012, appearing in a victory over Osasuna. Under Luis Enrique, Jonny moved into Celta’s first team during the 2013–14 season and established himself as a defender comfortable on either flank. In 2018, he left Celta and joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan, adapting to a wing-back role in Nuno Espírito Santo’s system. Wolves later made the move permanent, and Jonny contributed to their disciplined defensive structure while also supporting attacks from both sides. He subsequently continued his career with PAOK, helping the Greek club win the Super League title in 2024, before moving to Alavés. Jonny has also represented Spain at senior level and remains valued for his positional awareness, recovery work and reliable build-up play.
