Jon Gorrotxategi Etxaniz

Jon Gorrotxategi Etxaniz, commonly known as Jon Gorrotxategi, is a Spanish midfielder from Eibar. Born on 2 September 2002, he joined Real Sociedad’s Zubieta academy in 2017 and progressed through the club’s youth structure. Gorrotxategi made his senior debut for Real Sociedad C in October 2020 before becoming a regular during the 2021–22 season. He moved up to Real Sociedad B in 2022, continuing his development in the Primera Federación. During the 2024–25 campaign, he gained senior experience on loan at CD Mirandés in Segunda División, where he scored four goals. Returning to Real Sociedad, Gorrotxategi has been integrated into the first-team squad and operates primarily as a defensive midfielder, with the versatility to contribute centrally. His progression reflects the Basque club’s pathway from Zubieta to senior football.
