John Chetauya Nwankwo Donald Okeh

John Nwankwo is a Spanish centre-back born in Murcia on 25 September 2000. He developed at Real Murcia before joining Villarreal’s academy in 2015, later making his senior debut for Villarreal C in August 2019. In September 2020, Nwankwo moved to Elche, initially representing the reserve side, Elche Ilicitano. He made his Elche first-team debut against CD Buñol in the Copa del Rey on 16 December 2020, then started his La Liga debut against Atlético Madrid three days later. After Elche’s relegation, he became increasingly involved as the club returned to the Segunda División. Manager Sebastián Beccacece promoted him to Elche’s first-team squad in May 2023, and the defender signed an extension in March 2024 running until June 2028. John’s development included midfield duties, but he now operates primarily at centre-back, contributing positioning and composed distribution to Elche’s build-up.
