Joel Vieira Pereira

Joel Vieira Pereira is a Portuguese right-back born in Vila Nova de Gaia in 1996. He developed at FC Porto, spending six years in the youth ranks from 2007 to 2013. Pereira completed his development at Vitória de Guimarães and made his professional debut for the reserve side in September 2015, starting a goalless draw against Atlético Clube de Portugal. He later joined Académico de Viseu, where he was recognised as the Portuguese second tier’s leading right-back in 2017–18, sharing the award with Diogo Dalot. His career then took him to Cyprus with Doxa Katokopias and AC Omonia, followed by loans at Spartak Trnava and Gil Vicente. In May 2021, Joel Pereira signed for Lech Poznań, where he has continued as a right-sided defender and has also operated as an inverted wing-back or on the left flank.
