João Gervásio Bragança Moutinho

João Moutinho is a Portuguese defender born in Lisbon on 12 January 1998. He developed at Sporting CP’s academy from 2008 to 2017 before moving to the United States to play for the Akron Zips. In 2018, Los Angeles FC selected him first overall in the MLS SuperDraft, and he made 14 appearances for the club that season. João Moutinho then joined Orlando City, where he played from 2019 to 2022 and helped the team win the 2022 U.S. Open Cup. In 2023, he moved to Spezia in Italy before spending 2024–25 on loan with Jagiellonia in Poland. He subsequently joined Lech Poznań permanently in July 2025. Primarily a left-back, Moutinho has also been described as an inverted wing-back, contributing to build-up play while offering defensive cover.
