Javier Alejandro Otero León
Javier Alejandro Otero León is a Venezuelan goalkeeper from Cumaná, born in 2002. He joined Orlando City’s academy in 2017 and progressed through its youth pathway. Otero made his professional debut for Orlando City B in USL League One on October 24, 2020. In the inaugural 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season, he led the league with 100 saves. He signed a short-term MLS contract in June 2022 before agreeing to an Orlando City Homegrown Player contract in July 2023. Otero made his MLS debut for Orlando City SC against New York City FC in June 2024, then made his first league start in a 4–1 win over D.C. United in March 2025, recording five saves. He kept his first senior clean sheet in a 5–0 U.S. Open Cup victory over Tampa Bay Rowdies in May 2025 and debuted for Venezuela against Colombia in December 2023.
