Joona Veteli

Joona Veteli is a Finnish central midfielder born in Kemi on 21 April 1995. He developed with FC-88 before entering senior football with FC Kemi and TP-47, where he established himself in Finland’s lower divisions. In 2015, Veteli joined FF Jaro and made his first top-flight appearances, then represented hometown club PS Kemi in 2016. He moved to Norway’s Fredrikstad FK in 2017, spending three seasons there before returning to Finland with Ilves in 2020. In November 2021, Veteli signed for KuPS and helped the club win the 2022 Suomen Cup. Injuries limited his time at KuPS, although he was named Veikkausliiga Player of the Month in May 2023. Veteli returned to Ilves in 2024, where his central midfield experience and recent attacking output have made him an important figure.
