Jean Vercruysse
Jean Vercruysse is a French midfielder born in Hazebrouck on 3 July 2000. He began at US Pays de Saint-Omer before joining Montpellier’s academy in 2017, where he developed through the club’s youth and reserve sides. During the 2018–19 UEFA Youth League, Vercruysse made six appearances and scored against Benfica. He moved into senior football with Canet Roussillon in 2020, then continued his progression at Boulogne. With Boulogne, he established himself in midfield and contributed goals during the club’s rise, including six in the 2024–25 campaign. Vercruysse subsequently joined Le Mans, taking the next step into Ligue 2 and wearing the number 10 shirt. His route from regional football through Montpellier and Boulogne reflects a gradual development from academy player to senior midfielder.
