Joaquín Valiente Cioli

Joaquín Valiente Cioli is a Uruguayan midfielder from Colonia Valdense, born in 2001. He began playing with Club Atlético Colonia Valdense before moving to Defensor Sporting’s academy in 2017. Valiente made his senior debut for Defensor Sporting in 2021, contributing three goals and four assists in 25 appearances as the club won promotion to Uruguay’s top division. From 2022 to 2024, he remained with Defensor Sporting and was part of squads that won Copa Uruguay titles in each of those seasons. In 2025, Valiente joined Ecuadorian side Barcelona Sporting Club on loan and played in the Copa Libertadores. He later moved permanently to FC Dallas in February 2026. Valiente is primarily an attacking midfielder, with the versatility to operate from the left and create between the lines.
