Josha Mamadou Karaboue Vagnoman

Josha Mamadou Karaboue Vagnoman is a German defender born in Hamburg on 11 December 2000. After developing with SC Poppenbüttel and Hummelsbütteler SV, he joined Hamburger SV’s academy in 2010. Vagnoman made his Bundesliga debut for HSV against Bayern Munich in March 2018, becoming the club’s youngest player to debut in the competition at 17 years and 89 days. At Hamburger SV, he continued his development during the club’s 2. Bundesliga years, making 64 appearances across four seasons. He received the silver Fritz Walter Medal in 2019 and helped Germany win the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. In July 2022, Vagnoman moved to VfB Stuttgart, where his athleticism and ability to operate on either flank have supported his development as a modern wing-back. He contributes through overlapping runs, width, crossing and physical duels, with Stuttgart remaining his current club.
