Jákup Ludvig Thomsen
Jákup Ludvig Thomsen is a Faroese forward who developed at HB Tórshavn before moving to FC Midtjylland’s academy in Denmark in 2013. During the 2015–16 UEFA Youth League, he appeared in five matches, scored against Atlético Madrid, and helped Midtjylland win the Danish under-19 title. Thomsen then pursued senior experience with Danish clubs Skive IK and Thisted FC before joining Icelandic side FH Hafnarfjörður in 2018. At FH, he featured in UEFA Europa League qualifying. In March 2020, Thomsen returned permanently to HB Tórshavn, where he contributed to the club’s 2020 Faroese league-and-cup double. He also shared in HB’s 2021 Faroese Super Cup success. A centre-forward noted for mobility and penalty-area movement, Thomsen recorded eight goals in 16 appearances during the 2025 season and has represented the Faroe Islands internationally.
