Jan Uwe Thielmann
Jan Uwe Thielmann is a German right-back born on 26 May 2002 in Föhren. He developed with JSG Hetzerath/Föhren/Bekond before joining Eintracht Trier’s academy. In 2017, Thielmann moved to 1. FC Köln, where he helped the under-17s win the German championship in 2019. He made his senior debut for Köln in a 2–0 Bundesliga victory over Bayer Leverkusen on 14 December 2019, becoming the first player born in 2002 to appear in Germany’s top flight. Initially used as a winger or forward, Jan Uwe Thielmann has also operated on the right side and at right-back. He scored his first professional goal against VfL Wolfsburg in December 2020 and later struck an injury-time winner against Schalke 04. Köln remains his club, and his work rate and positional flexibility continue to support different assignments.
