Jonathan Glao Tah

Jonathan Glao Tah is a German centre-back born in Hamburg on 11 February 1996. He developed at Altona 93 and SC Concordia before joining the Hamburger SV academy at 13. Tah made his senior Bundesliga debut for Hamburger SV in 2013, becoming the club’s youngest debutant at the time, and continued his early development during a loan spell at Fortuna Düsseldorf. In 2015, he transferred to Bayer Leverkusen, where his physical presence, recovery pace and composed defending made him a regular in a side built to progress from the back. Under Xabi Alonso, Tah helped Leverkusen win the 2023/24 Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, completing an unbeaten domestic campaign. He also represented Germany at Euro 2024, starting four matches. In summer 2025, Tah joined Bayern München, adding an experienced central defender to the squad.
