Josip Stanišić
Josip Stanišić is a Croatian centre-back born in Munich on 2 April 2000. He developed in the local game with FC Perlach, TSV 1860 Munich and SC Fürstenfeldbruck before joining Bayern Munich’s academy in 2017. After progressing through Bayern’s youth teams, he helped Bayern II win the 3. Liga title in 2020 and made his senior debut against Union Berlin in April 2021. Stanišić established himself as a versatile defender, covering centre-back and both full-back positions for Bayern. He spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, contributing to the side’s unbeaten domestic double and helping secure a Bundesliga title before returning to Bayern. Stanišić remains part of Bayern’s first-team setup and represents Croatia at international level.
