Jozo Stanić

Jozo Stanić is a Croatian defender born in Augsburg, Germany, on 6 April 1999. He developed in the Augsburg area with FC Stätzling and Schwaben Augsburg before entering FC Augsburg’s academy in 2014. Stanić progressed through Augsburg’s under-17 and under-19 sides and signed his first professional contract in July 2018. He made his Bundesliga debut in February 2019, appearing late in Augsburg’s 4–0 defeat by Werder Bremen. To gain senior experience, he spent 2020–21 on loan at FSV Zwickau and 2021–22 with SV Wehen Wiesbaden, before joining NK Varaždin on loan for 2022–23. Stanić moved permanently to FC St. Gallen in September 2023, establishing himself in Switzerland as a central defender who can also cover the full-back positions. He has represented Germany at under-16 level and Croatia in youth football.
