Jakob Lungi Sørensen

Jakob Lungi Sørensen is a Danish defensive midfielder born on 3 March 1998. He developed in Esbjerg's academy after joining from SGI Fodbold in 2008, and made his senior debut for Esbjerg in December 2016. At his hometown club, Sørensen established himself as a disciplined central player before moving to Norwich City in July 2020. At Norwich, an injury to Xavi Quintillà during a warm-up led him to deputise at left-back, a role he continued to fill during the 2020–21 Championship title-winning campaign. He later also offered cover in central defence, while retaining his primary role as a holding midfielder. In July 2025, he joined SK Brann, where he continues to anchor midfield. Sørensen is valued for calm distribution, ball recovery and positional discipline, with his adaptability allowing coaches to adjust the team's shape.
