Julian Ryerson

Julian Ryerson is a Norwegian right-back born in Lyngdal on 17 November 1997. He began at Lyngdal IL before joining Viking FK’s academy at 15, and made his senior debut for Viking in 2015. By 2016, Ryerson had become a regular, while also gaining experience as an industrious midfielder as well as a defender. In 2018, he moved to Union Berlin in Germany, helping the club win promotion to the Bundesliga through the 2018–19 playoffs. At Union, he developed into a versatile wing-back and also operated on the left side of a back five despite being right-footed. Borussia Dortmund signed him in January 2023, where he quickly established himself as a dependable option across the full-back positions. Ryerson made his Norway debut in late 2020 and remains part of both Dortmund’s squad and the national team.
