James David Rodríguez Rubio

James David Rodríguez Rubio is a Colombian attacking midfielder, born in Cúcuta on 12 July 1991, whose preferred foot is his left. He developed at Envigado before moving to Banfield, where his performances helped the club win the 2009 Apertura title. At FC Porto, Rodríguez became a prominent playmaker, winning three Portuguese league titles and the 2011 Europa League. He joined Monaco in 2013 and led Ligue 1 in assists in his first season. His defining international tournament came at the 2014 World Cup, where he scored six goals, won the Golden Boot and received the FIFA Puskás Award for his volley against Uruguay. Real Madrid signed him in 2014, and although his role later diminished, he was part of squads that won two Champions League titles, including during a loan at Bayern München. Rodríguez later played for Everton, Olympiakos Piraeus, São Paulo and Rayo Vallecano, while continuing to provide Colombia with left-footed passing, set pieces and creative play.
