Jackson Cameron Ragen
Jackson Cameron Ragen is an American defender who developed through Seattle’s youth system before making his professional breakthrough in the Pacific Northwest. After playing for Seattle United and University Prep, he joined the Sounders FC Academy in 2016 and later spent four seasons at the University of Michigan. Ragen was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2020, completing a strong collegiate progression. Chicago Fire FC selected him 33rd overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, but he began his professional career with Tacoma Defiance that August. Seattle acquired his MLS rights in February 2022, bringing the 198-centimeter center-back into the Sounders’ first team. He contributed during Seattle’s 2022 CONCACAF Champions Cup-winning campaign, including starts in both semifinal legs against New York City FC. Ragen remains a key Seattle defender, combining aerial presence with composed passing and positional discipline.
