Jordan Lee Pickford

Jordan Lee Pickford is an English goalkeeper born in Washington on 7 March 1994. He joined Sunderland’s academy at eight and gained senior experience on loan at Darlington, Alfreton Town, Burton Albion, Carlisle United, Bradford City and Preston North End. Pickford made his Sunderland debut against Arsenal in January 2016 and became a regular as the club competed in the Premier League. Everton signed Pickford in June 2017, and he became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, winning its Player of the Season award four times, including three successive selections from 2023 to 2025. His energetic goalkeeping combines reflex saves with long-range distribution and an active role outside the six-yard box. Pickford made his England debut in 2017, became the team’s established number one and helped the side reach the 2018 World Cup semi-finals and two European Championship finals. He saved a penalty against Colombia at the 2018 World Cup and stopped Manuel Akanji’s effort in the Euro 2024 quarter-final shootout.
