Jonathan Osorio
Jonathan Osorio is a Canadian midfielder born in Toronto on June 12, 1992. He began his development at Brampton Youth SC, later Clarkson Sheridan SC, and moved to Uruguay in 2010 to join Nacional's academy. After earning CSL Rookie of the Year with SC Toronto in 2012, Osorio joined Toronto FC and made his MLS debut in March 2013. He developed into a versatile central and attacking midfielder, linking play, retaining possession and helping Toronto progress the ball through midfield. Osorio was a key member of Toronto FC's 2017 treble-winning team, which captured the MLS Cup, Supporters' Shield and Canadian Championship, and he won the CONCACAF Champions League Golden Boot in 2018. For Canada, he scored against Mexico at the Azteca in 2021 and appeared in all three of the nation's 2022 World Cup group matches. Toronto FC named Osorio captain in 2024, extending a long association with his hometown club.
