Jean Emile Junior Onana Onana

Jean Emile Junior Onana Onana is a Cameroonian defensive midfielder born in Yaoundé on 8 January 2000. He developed at Nkufo Academy before moving to Europe for senior football in Portugal and joining Lille. Onana later gained experience on loan at Royal Excel Mouscron before moving to Bordeaux in 2021, where he became a regular. He joined Lens in 2022, signed for Beşiktaş in 2023 and subsequently spent time with Marseille on loan in 2024. Standing 1.89 metres, Onana is a physically imposing number six who presses ball-carriers, contests aerial duels and shields the defence, while using short passing to retain possession. He made his Cameroon debut in October 2020 and featured at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, starting the third-place play-off as Cameroon secured the bronze medal.
