Jonas Omlin

Jonas Omlin is a Swiss goalkeeper born in Sarnen on 10 January 1994. He developed with FC Luzern before establishing himself at FC Basel 1893, where his performances helped the club win the Swiss Cup in 2018/19. Omlin then moved to Montpellier in August 2020 and made 74 appearances across three Ligue 1 seasons. In January 2023, he joined Borussia Mönchengladbach as the successor to Yann Sommer, bringing experience from Switzerland and France. He was named Gladbach captain at the start of the 2023/24 season, underlining his leadership within the squad. A 1.90-metre presence, Omlin is noted for shot-stopping, while his game also includes measured distribution and occasional sweeper actions. He has represented Switzerland, including at Euro 2020, adding international experience to a career built across Switzerland, France and Germany.
