Jayden Nelson

Jayden Nelson is a Canadian forward born in Toronto on September 26, 2002. He developed with Brampton YSC before joining the Toronto FC Academy at 14, where his direct dribbling and attacking instincts shaped his progression. Nelson signed a Toronto FC Homegrown Player contract in January 2020 and was part of the club’s 2020 Canadian Championship-winning team. He also represented Canada at youth level, scoring a hat-trick against Guatemala during the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifying campaign and earning Canadian Youth International Player of the Year recognition. In 2023, Nelson moved to Rosenborg, taking his energetic wing play to Norway and scoring twice in the UEFA Conference League. He later returned to Canada before joining Austin, where he is listed in the club’s current squad. At 1.70 metres, Nelson can operate wide or as an attacking midfielder, using acceleration and ball carrying to progress attacks.
