Ján Minárik

Ján Minárik is a Slovak centre-back who developed within the Žilina system. He came through the club’s academy and spent formative seasons with Žilina II, gaining senior experience in Slovakia’s second tier. Minárik’s integration into Žilina’s first team was completed in January 2019, beginning his sustained senior career with the club. He has remained with Žilina throughout his recorded senior career and has become an established defender. During the 2023–24 season, Minárik scored four goals, highlighting his threat at set pieces alongside his defensive responsibilities. Known as a ball-playing centre-back, he supports buildup with composed passing and competes for aerial balls. The club has also recognised Minárik as a key figure and captain.
