Jonathan Michel Mexique

Jonathan Michel Mexique is a Martinique international midfielder born in Le Mans, France, on 10 March 1995. He developed in the Le Mans area before joining AS Monaco in 2012, where he progressed through the club’s reserve setup. Mexique then moved into senior football with Red Star, gaining experience in Ligue 2 during the 2016–17 season. After a short Belgian spell with Cercle Brugge, he joined Cholet, initially on loan before making the move permanent in 2018. At Cholet, he became an important midfield presence and recorded six goals in the 2018–19 campaign. Having represented France at under-16 and under-17 level, Mexique switched his international allegiance to Martinique in 2022. He appeared in all three of Martinique’s group matches at the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup before joining Sochaux in July 2025, where he continues to operate in midfield.
