Josafat Wooding Mendes

Josafat Wooding Mendes is a Swedish defender who operates primarily at right-back. He developed in Stockholm, joining AIK after beginning at AFC United, and trained with the senior side in 2020. In 2021, Mendes moved to Hammarby, playing for Hammarby TFF before making his competitive first-team debut in the Europa Conference League. He returned to AIK late that year and became a regular during the 2022 Allsvenskan season. Braga signed him in January 2023, where he gained Champions League experience and helped win the 2023–24 Portuguese League Cup. On loan at FC Basel, he contributed to a campaign that delivered the Swiss Super League and Swiss Cup double. He made his Sweden debut against Iceland in January 2023, before joining Samsunspor in 2025.
