James John McAtee
James John McAtee is an English central midfielder from Salford, born on 18 October 2002. He joined Manchester City’s academy at Under-11 level and progressed through the club’s youth system, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2020. In 2021-22, McAtee was named Premier League 2 Player of the Season after scoring 18 goals in 23 matches. He made his senior Manchester City debut against Wycombe Wanderers in September 2021 before joining Sheffield United on loan for two seasons from 2022 to 2024. At Sheffield United, he gained experience in the Championship and Premier League during a spell that included the club’s promotion. Returning to Manchester City, McAtee scored three Premier League goals in 2024-25 before moving to Nottingham Forest. He has also represented England at youth level, captaining the Under-21 side to the 2025 European Championship.
