Joseph Essien Mbong
Joseph Essien Mbong pushes forward with pace, Mbong rushing to attack space and threaten the channel from the right flank. Mbong has risen through Ħamrun Spartans’ ranks, first noted as a forward/ winger before settling as a wide attacker who can also operate as a wing-back when needed. He made his Malta national team debut on May 29, 2018, and Mbong has since earned over 70 caps while contributing with goals. Mbong helped Ħamrun Spartans win the Maltese Premier League in 2020–21. He then clinched league titles again in the following seasons and added Maltese Super Cup wins in 2023 and 2024. Mbong’s game is built on speed and precise crossing to improve supply from wide positions. Mbong links play, drives at defenders, and finishes moves when found in the box.
