Jakub Martinec

Jakub Martinec is a Czech defender whose senior career has taken him from Hradec Králové to established First League football. He developed at SK Vysoké Mýto and FC Hradec Králové before joining Hradec’s senior setup, where he later wore the captain’s armband. In August 2020, Martinec moved to FK Jablonec and stepped into the Czech top flight. He became a regular there, contributing from central defence and developing a threat at set pieces. Martinec scored against former club Hradec Králové in September 2022 but chose not to celebrate. In September 2025, he joined Sparta Praha, continuing his career with the reigning Czech champions. At 187 centimetres, Martinec offers a strong aerial presence, reads danger early, and can support build-up play with forward passing.
