Jordy Makengo Basambundu
Jordy Makengo Basambundu is a French defender born in Saint-Denis on 3 August 2001. He began his development at US Villejuif Football, then spent a season with FC Gobelins before joining AJ Auxerre’s academy in 2017. Makengo progressed to Auxerre II, where he played from 2019 to 2021. In 2021, he moved to Germany to join SC Freiburg II and continued his development in the club’s reserve side. Freiburg II finished second in the 2022–23 season, giving the defender valuable senior experience. Standing 1.91 metres tall, Makengo offers a strong physical presence and defensive versatility. He has since been linked with the SC Freiburg first-team squad, continuing a pathway from youth football in France through reserve football in Germany.
