Jhon Janer Lucumí Bonilla
Jhon Janer Lucumí Bonilla is a Colombian defender who plays as a left-sided centre-back for Bologna. Born in Cali in 1998, he developed at Deportivo Cali and made his senior debut there in 2015. He established himself in the first team before moving to Belgian club Genk in 2018. In Belgium, Lucumí helped Genk win the 2018–19 league title and Super Cup, then added the Belgian Cup in 2020–21 while gaining Champions League experience. He joined Bologna in 2022 and became an important part of the side that qualified for the Champions League in 2023–24. He also featured in Bologna’s 2024–25 Coppa Italia triumph, ending the club’s long trophy drought. Internationally, Lucumí progressed through Colombia’s youth teams, won gold at the 2014 South American Games, and made his senior debut in 2019. His game combines patient defending, recovery speed, aerial strength and accurate passing from the back.
