Julien Laporte
Julien Laporte is a French defender born in Clermont on 4 November 1993. He developed with US Vallée de l'Authre and Aurillac FC before joining Clermont Foot, where he progressed from the academy into senior football. At Clermont, Laporte established himself as a first-team defender between 2015 and 2019. He then moved to FC Lorient, helping the club win the 2019–20 Ligue 2 title and earning experience in Ligue 1. His defensive role has centered on protecting the penalty area, contesting aerial balls and using clearances to remove danger. Standing 1.85 metres tall, he can also provide a passing outlet from the back and support transitions with forward distribution. In July 2025, Julien Laporte joined Montpellier, adding experience to a changing defensive unit.
