Jan Kronig

Jan Kronig is a Swiss defender born in Brig-Glis on 24 June 2000. He developed locally at FC Brig-Glis before joining the BSC Young Boys academy in 2011, where he progressed into senior football. Kronig made his Young Boys debut in May 2019 and was part of the squad that won a Swiss Super League title that season. He then continued his development in the Swiss Challenge League, spending the 2019–20 season on loan at FC Schaffhausen and the following campaign at FC Wil 1900. In July 2021, he joined FC Aarau permanently, establishing himself while operating mainly at centre-back and also covering left-back and left midfield. Kronig moved to FC Sion in January 2024 and helped the club win the 2023/24 Challenge League title. He has represented Switzerland from under-15 through under-21 level and brings positional flexibility to Sion’s defence.
