Jesper Kewe Karlström

Jesper Kewe Karlström is a Swedish defensive midfielder from Stockholm, born in 1995. He developed in Hammarby IF before moving to IF Brommapojkarna’s youth system, where he progressed to senior football and made his Allsvenskan debut in 2013. After Brommapojkarna’s relegation in 2014, Karlström joined Djurgårdens IF and grew from a squad player into a regular holding midfielder. He helped Djurgården win the 2017–18 Svenska Cupen and the 2019 Allsvenskan title. In January 2021, he transferred to Lech Poznań, winning the 2021–22 Ekstraklasa and contributing to the club’s run to the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-finals. Karlström has represented Sweden from youth level through the senior team, making his international debut in 2018. He later moved to Udinese, where he continues to provide defensive coverage, passing security and midfield balance.
