Jens Jønsson
Jens Jønsson is a Danish defensive midfielder born in Århus on 10 January 1993. He developed with IF Lyseng before joining AGF Aarhus’s academy at 12, where his versatility included midfield and defence. Jønsson made his breakthrough at AGF, and his late equaliser against Silkeborg in December 2012 won Sport 2012’s Best Goal award. In 2016, he moved to Konyaspor and helped the Turkish club win the 2017 Turkish Cup and Super Cup. Cádiz signed Jønsson in 2020, giving him experience in La Liga and a role protecting the defence. His performances brought a Denmark debut against Sweden in November 2020. Jønsson joined AEK Athens in 2022, where he was part of the club’s 2023 domestic double and continued to provide defensive cover from midfield.
