James Clayton Hill

James Clayton Hill is an English centre-back born in Bristol on 10 January 2002. He developed at Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers before joining Fleetwood Town’s academy in 2016. Hill made his senior debut for Fleetwood in an EFL Cup tie against Leicester City at 16 years and seven months, becoming the club’s youngest player. After establishing himself with Fleetwood, he joined Bournemouth in January 2022. The defender later gained experience on loan at Heart of Midlothian and Blackburn Rovers during 2023. Standing 184 centimetres tall, Hill has operated primarily at centre-back while also covering right-back and inverted wing-back roles. His game includes long passing, interceptions, aerial work and long throws, and he remains part of Bournemouth’s squad as he continues his development.
