Justin Haak

Justin Haak is an American midfielder from Brooklyn who developed in New York City FC’s academy. He joined the academy’s first under-14 team in 2015 and helped win the Generation adidas Cup in 2017 and the USDA National Championship in 2018. Haak became NYCFC’s first player from New York City’s five boroughs to sign a Homegrown contract, doing so in January 2019. He made his professional debut that June in a 5–2 victory over FC Cincinnati. Two loan spells with Hartford Athletic in 2020 and 2021 brought 32 USL Championship appearances and his first professional goal. Returning to NYCFC, Haak added first-team experience, including the Campeones Cup and MLS playoffs, and scored his first MLS goal in 2023. In 2026, Justin Haak joined the LA Galaxy, continuing his development as a defensive midfielder who can also operate at center-back.
