Julian Emil Kurt Gressel

Julian Emil Kurt Gressel is a right midfielder born in Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany, who represents the United States. He developed with SpVgg Greuther Fürth, SG Quelle Fürth and FC Eintracht Bamberg before moving to Providence College in 2013. As a Providence Friar, Gressel became a four-year starter and captain, earning First Team All-American recognition. Atlanta United selected him eighth overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, and he won MLS Rookie of the Year before helping the club lift the 2018 MLS Cup and 2019 U.S. Open Cup. A 2020 move to D.C. United was followed by spells with Vancouver Whitecaps and Columbus Crew, where he won Canadian Championships and a second MLS Cup. Gressel later played for Inter Miami before joining Minnesota United in 2025. After gaining U.S. citizenship, he made his international debut in 2023 and appeared at the Concacaf Gold Cup.
