Jonathan Alexander González Mendoza

Jonathan Alexander González Mendoza is a midfielder who developed with Atletico Santa Rosa before joining Monterrey’s academy in 2014. He made his professional debut for Monterrey against Monarcas Morelia in July 2017, establishing himself in midfield during his first senior season. González was named in the Liga MX Apertura 2017 Best XI and received the league’s Rookie of the Year award. With Monterrey, he also won the Copa MX Apertura 2017, a CONCACAF title in 2019 and the 2019–20 Liga MX title. González later spent time with Necaxa, Minnesota United, Querétaro and FC Juárez. Internationally, he represented the United States through under-20 level, winning the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship, before switching allegiance to Mexico in 2018. He subsequently returned to the United States with San Jose Earthquakes.
