Justen Thomas Glad

Justen Thomas Glad is an American centre-back born in Pasadena in 1997. He joined the Real Salt Lake Academy in 2012 and signed as the club’s seventh MLS Homegrown player in April 2014. Glad started his professional career with Real Monarchs in 2015, scoring on debut, before making his MLS debut for Real Salt Lake against Vancouver that June. At 19, he became a regular starter in 2016, winning RSL’s Defender of the Year award and scoring his first MLS goal against Sporting Kansas City. In 2019, Glad became the first Real Salt Lake Homegrown player to reach 100 appearances, and he passed 200 appearances by 2023. He became the first Homegrown player to captain Real Salt Lake in an MLS match in April 2023. For the United States, Glad helped the Under-20 side win the 2017 CONCACAF Championship and earned Best XI recognition at the 2017 Under-20 and 2020 Under-23 tournaments.
