Jonathan Alexander Gallagher

Jonathan Alexander Gallagher is an Irish forward born in Dundalk on 23 February 1996. After developing across several countries, he joined the University of Notre Dame, where he scored 39 goals and supplied 15 assists in 84 appearances from 2014 to 2017. In 2016, Gallagher led the ACC in goals and points and was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year, while also earning USC Second Team All-American recognition. Atlanta United FC selected him 14th overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, and he led Atlanta United 2 with six goals in his first season. Gallagher then joined Aberdeen on loan for 2019–20, making 31 appearances, starting six Europa League qualifiers and scoring against Rangers. Returning to Atlanta, he scored four goals in 16 appearances before moving to Austin ahead of their inaugural 2021 season. With Austin, Gallagher scored the first goal at Q2 Stadium and was selected for the 2023 MLS All-Star Game after recording five goals and three assists.
