Jeffrey Joseph Gal

Jeffrey Joseph Gal is a Chicago-born American goalkeeper who built his career across college, Sweden and Major League Soccer. Born on April 6, 1993, he developed in the Chicago area and entered the U.S. Under-18 national-team pool in 2011. He played college soccer at Creighton and the University of Virginia, reaching the NCAA College Cup with Creighton in 2012 and the semifinals with Virginia in 2013. Gal moved to Sweden in 2016 and spent nearly seven years competing through its professional divisions, including a promotion-winning spell before returning home. In January 2023, Chicago Fire signed Gal, who subsequently featured mainly for the club’s reserve side while supporting younger players. His breakthrough came in 2025, when he made his MLS debut and kept a clean sheet in a 0–0 draw. Gal’s Chicago homecoming completed a long route from local development to the top level of American soccer.
