Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong

Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong is a Netherlands defender born in Amsterdam on 10 December 2000. He developed at Manchester City’s academy after moving to England as a child, but left without making a senior appearance. Celtic signed Frimpong in 2019, and his pace, pressing and attacking runs quickly established him in the first team. He helped Celtic win the 2019–20 domestic treble and was named the club’s Young Player of the Year. In January 2021, he joined Bayer Leverkusen, where his role grew significantly after Xabi Alonso introduced a 3-4-3 system in 2022. Operating as an adventurous right-sided wing-back, Frimpong contributed to Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga campaign and DFB-Pokal triumph in 2023–24. He moved to Liverpool in 2025, bringing recovery pace, width and positional versatility to a new chapter at Anfield.
