Juan Marcos Foyth

Juan Marcos Foyth is an Argentine defender from La Plata who plays primarily at centre-back or right-back. He developed at Estudiantes de La Plata, initially as an attacking midfielder before moving into defence shortly before his 16th birthday. After breaking into Estudiantes’ first team, Foyth joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2017 and continued his development in England. In October 2020, he moved to Villarreal on loan, where his role evolved into that of a defensively minded right-back under Unai Emery. Villarreal made the move permanent in 2021, and Foyth helped the club win the Europa League that year, starting the final against Manchester United. He has represented Argentina and was part of the squad that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Foyth’s composure in possession, aerial ability and positional versatility define his contribution across the back line.
