Johannes Eggestein

Johannes Eggestein is a German midfielder born in Hannover on 8 May 1998. He developed with TSV Schloß Ricklingen and TSV Havelse before joining Werder Bremen’s academy in 2013. At Bremen, Eggestein signed his first professional contract in 2016 and progressed into senior football, sometimes operating in wider or deeper roles. A loan to LASK Linz in 2020–21 gave him a prominent role in a high-pressing side and preceded a permanent move to Antwerp in 2021. After his Belgian spell, he joined FC St. Pauli, where he became part of the team that won promotion as champions in 2023–24. Eggestein represented Germany from under-15 through under-21 level and helped the under-17 side reach the 2015 European Championship final. He moved to Austria Vienna in 2025, continuing a career shaped by movement, link-up play and finishing around the attacking midfield line.
